Healthcare
Healthcare is the largest single module in Orbit — a genuine hospital/clinic workflow, not a patient list bolted onto a generic CRM.
Patients & Encounters
Section titled “Patients & Encounters”- Patients — the core record: demographics, history, and every encounter, admission, and bill tied back to one patient.
- Encounters — a single visit, carrying coded diagnoses (structured diagnosis codes, not free-text notes) so conditions are queryable and reportable, not just documented.
- Appointments — scheduled visits, checked against doctor/resource availability.
Doctors & Departments
Section titled “Doctors & Departments”Doctors are organized into departments, giving a structure for scheduling, billing, and reporting that mirrors how a real clinic or hospital is organized.
Admissions & Wards (ADT)
Section titled “Admissions & Wards (ADT)”Full admit-discharge-transfer tracking for inpatient care:
- Wards — physical care units, each with individual beds.
- Admissions — a patient’s inpatient stay, tracking bed assignment over time.
- Bed transfers — moving a patient between beds/wards mid-stay, with a full bed-history timeline per admission, not just a single current-location field.
- Discharge — closes out the admission.
Prescriptions & Pharmacy
Section titled “Prescriptions & Pharmacy”- Prescriptions — written against an encounter, dispensed through Pharmacy.
- Dispensing draws from the same Inventory & Warehouse stock engine as every other module — a dispensed medication is a real stock issue, so pharmacy stock levels stay accurate without a separate manual reconciliation step.
Lab Orders
Section titled “Lab Orders”Orders for lab work, tracked from request through result, tied back to the encounter that requested them.
Insurance & Billing
Section titled “Insurance & Billing”- Payers — insurance companies, each with a claims address for submitting claims.
- Plans — specific coverage plans under a payer, each with its own coverage percentage and copay amount, so a bill can calculate the patient’s actual out-of-pocket portion automatically.
- Billing — bills reference the encounter/admission they’re for and the insurance plan covering the patient, splitting a charge between what insurance covers and what the patient owes.
Analytics
Section titled “Analytics”Healthcare-specific reporting — patient volume, admissions, revenue — separate from the account-wide Reports builder, tuned to healthcare’s own metrics.
