Accounting

Accounting isn’t a bolt-on in Orbit — it’s the ledger every other module posts to. A Sales Invoice, a Purchase receipt, a payroll run, an asset depreciation entry: each one creates real General Ledger entries against your chart of accounts, not a separate “accounting sync” step.

A standard, unified chart of accounts (Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Income, Expenses) that every other module maps into — Sales maps to Revenue accounts, Purchase to GRNI/Payables, Inventory to Stock-in-Hand, and so on, so your GL always reflects real operational activity.

  • General Ledger — every posted transaction, drillable by account.
  • Journal Entries — manual entries for anything that doesn’t come from another module automatically.
  • Fiscal Years — your accounting periods, set from the fiscal-year-start-month you chose during first login.
  • Exchange Rates — multi-currency support; transactions in a foreign currency post at the rate in effect on that date.
  • Payment Receipts — recording money in/out against invoices, feeding straight into AR/AP aging.
  • Income Statement (P&L)
  • Balance Sheet
  • Trial Balance
  • Cash Flow
  • Cash Book
  • VAT / GST Return, with configurable tax type and filing period
  • AR Aging / AP Aging
  • Tax Settings

Every report exports to CSV or prints directly.

  • Sales Invoices and their partial payments update AR aging in real time — no “any payment marks it fully paid” shortcut.
  • Purchase Orders post a GRNI (Goods Received, Not Invoiced) entry on receipt, cleared when the matching Purchase Invoice lands.
  • Inventory adjustments and warehouse stock movements post their own GL entries via FIFO or weighted-average costing, depending on how a product is configured.
